What the service is

Permit Puncher files mechanical and plumbing permit applications on behalf of licensed contractors in Florida. Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, Pinellas County and Pasco County are served every day; other Florida jurisdictions are served on request once we have confirmed that jurisdiction's delegate or agent process with its building department. We act as your delegate, authorized agent or authorized signer, using the process each jurisdiction provides for that purpose. Every application is filed under your license and in your company's name.

What the service is not

Permit Puncher is not a licensed contractor and does not perform, supervise or warrant any construction work. We do not represent ourselves to any county, city, inspector or customer as the contractor. We do not control, and do not promise to shorten, the time a jurisdiction takes to review or approve an application. Approval, denial and inspection results are the jurisdiction's decisions.

Fees

  • $99 per permit application filed, flat. One application in one jurisdiction is one permit.
  • Your first permit with us is free.
  • Corrections and resubmittals on a permit we filed are included at no extra charge.
  • The jurisdiction's own permit fees, inspection fees and any notary fees are yours and are paid the way you pay them today.
  • There is no contract term, no monthly minimum and no cancellation fee.

What you agree to

  • You hold a current, active Florida license appropriate to the work being permitted, and you tell us at once if that changes.
  • The job information you send us is accurate: the address, the equipment, the scope, and whether the work is a changeout or new.
  • You authorize us, through the jurisdiction's delegate or agent process, to file applications, pay fees you have funded, schedule inspections and read status under your license. You can withdraw that authorization at any time in the same portal or form you used to grant it.
  • You remain responsible for the work, for the permit, for keeping the permit active and for passing inspection, as the licensed contractor.

What we agree to

  • We file within one hour of receiving a complete job ticket during working hours, and first thing the next working morning otherwise.
  • We check the package before submitting it, check status hourly, request the inspection when the permit issues and track the record to final.
  • We use your information only to file and manage your permits. We do not sell it or share it with anyone except the jurisdiction and you.
  • If we make a filing error, we correct it at our cost.

Limits

Our responsibility for any permit is limited to the fee you paid us for that permit. We are not responsible for the jurisdiction's review time, its decisions, inspection outcomes, portal outages, or delays caused by incomplete or inaccurate job information.

Ending the service

Either of us can stop at any time. Permits already filed stay filed under your license; you can keep managing them yourself or ask us to track them to final.
